Our Projects for 2007
1.) Sponsor-A-Pastor/Missionary
- With the help of the local churches, Hungarian Baptist Missions
identifies and supports local missionaries who are recommended
by their local churches. Annual costs of supporting a local pastor
or missionary in Romania is approximately $3,000 per year. These
amounts are significantly less than the approximately $30,000
we would need to send a missionary from the USA, not to mention
the language and cultural barriers. During the dark decades of
atheistic communism, many pastors were threatened with imprisonment
for preaching the Gospel. Many more were forced into early retirement.
Very few active pastors remain. There is a great need to reach
thosands of locations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.) Sponsor-A-Child-to-Christian-Camp - Hungarian Baptist Missions organizes
and finances one-week vacations in Hungarian Baptist Camps for
a orphans from local orphanages and other poor children. The
idea behind this project is to help orphans and extremely poor
children to have a memorable experience in an environment where
they can hear the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
3.) Hungarian Baptist Publishing - Hungarian Baptist Missions translates
and publishes Baptist literature and tracts for distribution
and re-publishes many Hungarian Baptist books that are already
out of print.
Hungarian Baptist Missions also supports indigenous Hungarian
Baptist churches to fulfill their purposes. In addition, HBM
supports various special projects as needs arise.
